Membership Details
To Join the Ambulance Service Welfare Fund, subscriptions are taken by the Ambulance Service as payroll deductions. The amount is $20.00 per fortnight for operational staff and $13.30 per fortnight for non-operational staff.
Currently this membership is only available to ongoing employees of the SA Ambulance Service.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP FOR CASUALS, VOLUNTEERS AND PAST MEMBERS
Associate Membership is available for an annual cost of $45.00, and entitles the member to use of the holiday homes, corporate rates on Health Insurance, the hire of equipment (baby capsules/breast pumps), Entertainment Membership purchases, family passes to local sporting events and any other special offers.
* Exclusions for Associate Members are Financial Assistance Loans, Sickness & Accident Benefit Claims and the Funeral Benefit.TAX DEDUCTIBILITY OF MEMBERSHIP FEES
Following updated actuarial advice, members are advised that the previous 5/6ths tax-deductible portion of Ambulance Service Welfare Fund membership fees no longer applies. The actuary has confirmed that the deductible portion of fees is now determined by pay points, rather than a single fixed percentage for all members. This change reflects differences in the income protection insurance component across salary classifications and superannuation schemes. Members should refer to the table under Useful Links to determine the percentage applicable to their pay point and superannuation scheme when preparing their tax return.
